Lloyd Clifford Chesney III

December 2, 1947 ~ November 7, 2023 (age 75) 75 Years Old

          Lloyd Clifford Chesney III was born to Irene and Loyd (Chet) Chesney on December 2, 1947 in Washington D.C. Lloyd grew up in Eau Gallie, Florida and attended the University of Florida where he met the love of his life, Jacquelin (Jackie ) Hicks.  They dated for 4 years and then married.  Jackie and Lloyd have been married for 53 years.  He was a member of  Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity.  He graduated from the University of Florida in 1971 with a Bachelor of Science in Analytic Chemistry and worked on Graduate Studies in Environmental Engineering.

       Lloyd’s career took him first to South Florida Water Management Lab where he was the Analytic Laboratory Director and later was promoted to the Operations Director.  From there he went into Private Business in Pool Maintenance .  He was employed by Palm Beach County Health Care District as their IT Director.  Lloyd became a  Consultant in Telecommunications and  the Healthcare field where he worked in many locations including Brazil.  

     His hobbies were Sailing, Scuba Diving, Motor Boating and almost anything to do with the water where he spent some of his most enjoyable hours.  He was a talented Photographer, Sharpshooter and loved all things Tech and Home Automation.

     Lloyd is survived by his wife, Jackie, and sister Judith Lucas Woodall.  He also leaves his sisters-in-law, Nancy Ann Crider and Mary Helen Hicks Sakellarios, brother-in-law David (Lou Etta) Hicks, nephews Peter (Nicol) Sakellarios and Jeremy (Marjan) Hicks.  He was predeceased by his parents Irene and Chet Chesney and nephew Daniel Sakellarios.

     Lloyd and Jackie spent much of their married life in West Palm Beach and retired to Ft Myers where Lloyd made many new friends.  He rarely met someone that he did not like and was always eager to help and share his knowledge.  He loved his Community.

     Lloyd’s life will be celebrated on Sunday, 11/19.  Please contact the family for additional details regarding the Celebration.  To honor his memory, Donations may be made to the American Heart Association (heart.org/donate) in Lloyd’s name.
