Kathryn Jane Schneider

Kathryn Jane Schneider (Jane) of Ft. Myers , FL., known to many that loved her as Gobbie, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2023 at the age of 89. Jane was born in Coshocton, Ohio on February 12,1934 to Mr. and Mrs. David S Clark. Her first career was as a nurse, she later had a second career as an Elementary school teacher. Jane and her family moved to Lakeland, Florida in 1975. Jane later moved to Fort Myers, FL in 2010 to be closer to her family and her favorite place, Sanibel Island.  Jane enjoyed volunteering in her retirement at Harlem Heights Center, The Learning Tree of Fort Myers, and Rayma C. Page Elementary which she did Odyssey of the Mind.  She was a beloved daughter,sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Jane was predeceased by her parents David and Kathryn Clark, husband Jack Schneider and brother Alan Clark. She is survived by her sister Ann Bordenkircher, sister-in-law Jane Hurshman, two children Jill Lampley (Tom) and Jack Schneider, wife Cynthia. Five grandchildren; David Lampley, Jeffrey Lampley, Kathryn Tyburski (Schneider), Meaghan Schneider, and Samantha Schneider. Jane had six great grandchildren whom she adored.   

Teaching children of all ages was Jane’s passion.  She embodied this quote “Teachers who love teaching, Teach children to love Learning.

Her final resting place will be next to her husband Jack in Lakeland, Florida. A Celebration of her Life will be held July 1st on Sanibel Island.  A place full of special memories. Donations may be made to Hope Hospice, Ft. Myers at https://morehope.org/
