Tribute

James A. Poshek, (Jaime) passed away in his sleep on May 16, 2018. He was born on July 15, 1962 in Chicago, Il. To James and Patricia Poshek. He was the oldest of four children. Jaime was born with a zest for life. He was blessed with many talents.

Jaime was on State championship teams in both tennis and soccer at Portage High School.
Jaime was an artist and cartoonist for his school paper. He created the logo for the Portage School System which is still used in all school materials 38 years later. Jaime was raised in Ogden Dunes on the shores of Lake Michigan.

His work ethic began as five years as a paperboy. Jaime never missed a delivery. He did not miss a day of school through grade eleven. He mowed lawns and did yard work in warm weather and cleared driveways in the winter.

Jaime built ski jumps and iced them down in the dunes by our house winters. He piped in music and lit the jumps with flood lights. It was super fun for all his friends. Jaime loved windsurfing and sailing a catamaran on Lake Michigan. He enjoyed the countryside in Michigan hunting Morel mushrooms and picking up black walnuts with his family near their cottage on Donnell Lake in Southwestern Michigan. Several relatives and friends lived nearby. It was a fun retreat During all seasons. Jaime graduated with a B.A. degree in Marketing from Michigan State University in 1980. While at MSU he was a member of Delta Chi Fraternity and MSU Soccer team.

After college, he marketed IBM computers for O/E Systems while living at Orchard Lake in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. He moved to Sanibel Island to be near family.He worked in Food and Beverage at the Thistle Lodge and The Sanctuary. A member of The Sanctuary offered him a Position to open and run Ivan's Mountainside Grill @ Schuss Mtn. In Bellaire, Mi. Jaime loved skiing, cooking and a girlfriend in Bellaire as well as preparing special dishes for the guests.

After a few years, he moved back to Southwest Florida. He worked for AT&T while they were in the area. He then went to work at Miva which became Adknowledge. He recently was Senior Account Executive for ReachMobi branch. He loved his career, co..workers and clients. Jaime lived life to the fullest. He shared the results of his talents with his friends. He was very artistic and creative. Examples of his work can be found in many parts of the country. He was a talented Chef preparing delicious, creative meals along with artistic menus and place settings for his friends and family.

Jaime is survived by his parents, his sister Kimberly and brother, Kevin, his Aunts--Debbie Wagner, Nancy Gordnier and Sandra Poshek, several cousins and a multitude of loving friends. He was pre deceased by his brother, Danny.
