Elsie C. Cater

One of my favorite people that I got the pleasure of talking to daily over the last couple of years. Barkley Place won’t be the same without her. She recently kissed my director of dining services since he served one of her favorites, biscuits and gravy! Thank you to her whole family for sharing sweet Elsie with us. LouAnn and family, my heart hurts for you all on the passing of your Mom and grandmom. I thank our very good God for having graced us with the gift of this very lovely lady in our lives. I can still hear her laugh!!!  She was s delight and and encouragement to me in my walk with our Lord and I will never forget the year she had Rebecca in her 2 year old Sunday School class. She used to make "peas" out of play dough and Rebecca would promptly set about smashing Miss Elsie's "peas"!  Your Momma told me she would tell Rebecca, " Now, don't you smash Miss Elsie's peas!" And Rebecca would delight in smashing those peas and Miss Elsie laughed that precious and beautiful Miss Elsie laugh! I cannot wait to see her again in Heaven!  We're going to have a "pea smashing" party!!  My love and prayers go out to you...praying God gives you the peace and comfort only He can at this time of separation and fills your mind with great memories and brings joy to the days ahead as we rejoice in the great gifts He has given us here and the greater gifts he has given us for eternity!

Ms. Elsie, you will always be remembered by me as a sweet lady, Rest in peace.
