Christopher McElroy

Chris McElroy (66) of Alva, Florida passed away on Friday, March 8th after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Chris is survived by his loving family: his wife of 40 years Jenny,  his daughter, Megan McElroy of Watertown, MA, and his son Evan McElroy and his wife Maggi along with his granddaughter Maya of Fort Myers, as well as his mother: Beverly McElroy of Cape Coral, his sisters: Melody Streeter of Racine, WI, and Melissa Sparks of St. Petersburg, FL. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward McElroy.
Chris was an electrical contractor in Lee County for many years and later in his career, became an electrical instructor at Fort Myers Technical College where he was affectionately referred to as “Mr Mac” by his students.
Chris had many interests but his favorite, after spending time with his family, was Rving. He planned many summer RV adventures with his family, traveling as far north as Nova Scotia and as far west as the Grand Tetons with dreams of traveling the entire United States and Canada.
Chris found comfort in nature and loved hiking, exploring, and gardening. He sought out waterfalls on his travels and always had an adventurous spirit.
There will be a Memorial Gathering between 12-1 on Saturday, March 23rd with a Memorial Service at 1:00 pm. A luncheon will follow immediately following the conclusion of the service in Harvey Engelhardt's banquet room. All are invited to join us.
