Bernard L. Polomski, 98 of Detroit, Michigan passed away Sunday, February 10th, at Lee Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. Bernard, Ski, Ben, Pa was a resident of Fort Myers for 46 years and considered Fort Myers his home.
He was a veteran in the Military Intelligence Division and served in Uruguay during World War II searching for German submarines. Bernard also served with FAA for 27 years in the Canal Zone in Panama, where he met and married Clara Polomski. He was an avid gardener, loved orchids and birds. He spent his spare time breeding homer pigeons for several years. He also loved to read and enjoyed his daily walks before his legs got weak.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Clara Polomski, his son Gerald and his loving dog Rio Mar. He was also preceded in death by his many brothers and sisters - John, Stanley, Ed, Mary, Josephine, Helen and Bernice.
He is survived by his daughter Patricia Cuevas, 2 granddaughters, Natasha Ramos and Tatiana Cuevas, Grandson-in-Laws Tony Ramos and Kevin McDonald, his great-grandchildren, Dakotah and Hudson Ramos and his loving dog Stormy.
He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, Phil, Ronald, Jacquie Marsha, Chet and Donna, & Beverly.
United States Army Honor Guard to begin at 3:15 PM. A Catholic scripture service will begin at 3:330 PM.
