Managing PartnerTim has been a resident of Lee County the past 47 years. He is and has been serving client families at the funeral home for over 26 years. He graduated from Edison Community College, then earned his state funeral director and embalmers license from Miami Dade School of Mortuary science in 1986. He is a past president of Cape Coral Rotary Club and presently serves as a member of the board of directors. He is a past president of the Cape Coral Jaycees and currently serves on the board of the Cape Coral Chamber of Commerce.
Funeral DirectorKen was born 1952 in New York City. He is a 1974 graduate of Florida Southern College Lakeland, Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a 1977 graduate of Miami Dade School of Funeral Service with an Associate of Science and Associate of Arts in Mortuary Science. He has been a Funeral Director with Harvey- Engelhardt Funeral Home since August 1979. He is married with two adult children.
Funeral DirectorOriginally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Rachel received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences from The Ohio State University in 2002. During her college career, she volunteered at the Ohio State University Medical Center, where she assisted families who were waiting for loved ones in the intensive care unit. This experience proved to be very meaningful and inspired Rachel to continue working with families who were faced with the death of a loved one. She began her career as an advanced funeral planning family counselor in Ohio before relocating to Southwest Florida to complete her Degree in Mortuary Science at St. Petersburg College. In 2008, Rachel became fully licensed as a Funeral Director/Embalmer and has worked with associate funeral homes in Naples, Florida. She has ultimately made her home in Fort Myers, where she enjoys time with many great friends and family. Rachel specializes in planning customized Life Celebration Events and loves telling the personal story of every family that she serves.
Ken has been in the Funeral Business since he was 17 years old. He graduated from American Academy McAllister Institute in New York in 1995 with a degree in mortuary science. Ken worked as a funeral director/embalmer in New York City for 17 years where he perfected his trade. Ken moved his family to Lee County in 2011.
Funeral DirectorAlbert B. Haab started his career in Funeral Service in 1968 in Michigan. He graduated from Wayne State University Department of Mortuary Science in Detroit, Michigan, after which he started his own trade embalming service. He married his wife Kathy in 1977, and in 1980, he and Kathy relocated to Fort Myers, Florida, where he started working with Leo Engelhardt Funeral Home on McGregor Blvd. In 1986, the firms of Harvey and Engelhardt merged and became Harvey Engelhardt Metz. Al remained there until 1989, when he joined Memorial Gardens Funeral Home and remained there for 18 years. From 2007 until 2014, he was at Hodges Funeral Home. After semi-retiring, Al returned to Harvey-Engelhardt, where he is currently employed. He is very proficient in embalming procedures and is also a licensed Funeral Director. Al is married to Kathy, a registered nurse at Lee Health, and together they had two boys Brandon and Spencer.
Certified Crematory OperatorMark Jones is our certified crematory operator. He has over 20 years of experience in the funeral and cremation business. Mark has been a member of the staff for over four years. He loves to fish and spend time with his family.
Adminitrative Assistant to the DirectorsSharon was originally a snowbird from Marblehead, Ohio before she became a permanent resident of Cape Coral, Florida in 2000. Prior to joining the funeral home, she worked for Comcast Cable in the finance department for 12 years. Sharon enjoys all types of sports and spending time with family and friends and is involved with various clubs.
AmbassadorOriginally from Connecticut, Keith has been a resident of Cape Coral the past 10 years. Before retirement, Keith worked as a State Trooper and Fireman. He served his country honorably with the U.S. Army. Keith has worked for the funeral home the past four years as a funeral assistant. He enjoys cruising the area on his Harley and taking his grandchildren to Disney World.
Pre-Need SpecialistOriginally from Ashland, Kentucky, Missi moved to South Florida in 1986, spending 25 years in Miami before relocating to Cape Coral in 2011. She received her B.A. in Business from American Intercontinental University and spent 21 years in operations and human resources management for Fortune 100 companies prior to becoming an Advanced Planning Specialist in the funeral industry. Community involvement is a priority, and she participates as a volunteer in charitable events with the ALS, BCM, and the BNI Foundations. Missi has a wonderful husband, five children, five grandchildren and two treasured doggies. She enjoys cruising, boating, the beach, trying new restaurants and wine tasting. Her favorite thing to do is watch the Miami Heat or Miami Dolphins play with her family cheering by her side.
Originally from Milwaukee Wisconsin, Faye moved to Southwest Florida after her sons went off to college. She took the position of administrative assistant to the funeral director and office manager of our Cape Coral location. While in Milwaukee, she had previously held the position of 911 dispatcher and was in charge of corporate social responsibility in the Heating and Air conditioning services and the Collision Industry.
She has three grown sons and four stepsons and was recently married on Fort Myers Beach. Faye’s interests are training her rescue German Shepherds and Min Pin. She enjoys working with animal rescue sites and animal welfare groups to help place animals into homes.
Faye and her husband enjoy riding their Harley-Davidson year-round in the beautiful Florida weather.
Administrative AssistantKaren was born in Chicago, Illinois and moved to the Sarasota/Bradenton area in 1958 with her family. She completed her education in Bradenton, where she got married and worked in the banking field for several years. In 1970, Karen moved to Fort Myers, where she started a family and had two daughters. When her children started school at Heights Elementary School in Fort Myers, she was offered a job as a Para-Professional by principal Tommy Halgrim. Soon Karen became the bookkeeper at the school and retired after 30-plus years at that school. After retiring, she had some time on her hands, so she began working at Harvey-Engelhardt and Fuller Metz Funeral Homes in 2015. She enjoys her two daughters and their husbands plus five grandchildren, ranging in age from 18 to 13. Outdoor activities, including water sports, fishing and the grandchildren’s sporting events, keep her busy for now.
David Slothower has been assisting our families during their loss of a loved one for the past 12 years. He and his wife, Maureen, have been residents of Cape Coral for over 20 years. After 35 years of working at Sears where he held several national executive positions. He now devotes his time and energy to assisting our families during their time of need.
Advance Planning Specialist
On Site Certified Crematory OperatorSteve comes to us from Fort Wayne, Indiana. He previously worked in the funeral business in the summer months. During the winter months of the past 30 years, Steve has totaled 2300-plus games working all levels of hockey, including the National Hockey League, with the latest team being the St. Louis Blues. After making Florida his home 2 ½ years ago, he joined the Carriage team and has completed his certification for Crematory Operator and is now working towards his Embalmer Apprentice with the State of Florida. Steve has been married to his wife Barbara, a school teacher for Lee County School System, for 27 years and has raised two boys, Adam and Cory.
