Harry C. Hequembourg III was born on July 20, 1928 in Buffalo, NY to his parents Harry and Julia Hequembourg Jr and moved to Leesburg, FL.  He passed away on April 29, 2017 in Fort Myers, FL at the age of 88 at his home surrounded by loving family members.
At an early age, Harry had a passion for antiques and as a teenager opened his own store to a very brisk business in Leesburg. 
In 1948 Harry graduated from the University of Buffalo, NY and received his BA.
Harry enlisted in the Army during the Korean conflict and achieved the rank of Sargent while stationed in Japan. 
After being discharged from the Army, Harry then continued his education at the University of Florida where he received his MBA in 1956.  
In 1957, Harry was hired as the Vice President in the Trust Tax Office at the Southeast Bank of Florida in Miami and was later transferred to Sarasota when the bank became known as First Union where he retired in 1992. 
He and his wife, Betty Lou, took great pride in being the Treasurer at the Fort Myers Congregational UCC for many years where they had friends, being mentors to the Church youths, and even helped out with the landscaping around the Church.    
He and Betty Lou enjoyed traveling around the world on their vacations together and they loved to dance everywhere they went.  Harry was an excellent cook, photographer, artist, pianist and was well-liked by all who met him. His beautiful bright blue eyes sparkled when he engaged in conversation.
He was a devoted and loving husband, Dad, Papa, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather, but most of all, he was a kind and a gentle man.
Harry is survived by his daughter Marie Carson and granddaughter  Danielle, her husband Andy Bratcher and great-grandchildren Carson, Dawson and Melody Bratcher;  Granddaughter Heather Wilkins and great-grandson Houston Wilkins;  Grandson Travis Bo Carson;  Daughter Julianne, her husband Douglas Desmond and great-granddaughter Noelle, her husband Christopher Graff, great-grandsons Brant and Brody Graff;  and grandson Jarrett and his wife Sarah.
Harry is also survived by his daughter, Sally, and her husband Chuck Slaton. Grandchilden, Ryan Taylor, Eric Taylor and wife Pilar;  Dawn Kohl & her husband John, and great-granddaughters, Taylor and Charlotte Kohl;  son, Bruce McConnel and his wife, Nancy Altha;  niece Sue Hennegan and many grandnieces and grandnephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Ft Myers Congregational United Church of Christ Memorial Fund.
